GEORGE TOWN: The Taman Perda Teluk Kumbar night market will be closed temporarily following the detection of a Covid-19 case in Teluk Kumbar.

Bayan Lepas assemblyman Azrul Mahathir Aziz said the case was detected on Sunday (Nov 1).

"We have decided to temporarily suspend the operations of the night market which is held every Tuesday,” he said.

Azrul said that the suspension would start from Nov 3, adding that the night market would be reopened when the situation improves.

"I hope that we can work together to help control the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic," he said in a statement Monday (Nov 2).
