KUALA LANGAT: Seven blocks of Sungai Emas flats and terrace houses at Taman Sungai Emas here have been placed under targeted movement control order (MCO) from Oct 28 to Nov 10.

The terrace houses affected by the targeted MCO are those located at Jalan Emas 31 and Jalan Emas 32 in the housing estate.

Kuala Langat district officer Mohd Jusni Hashim said that all the residents of the flats and terrace houses were Malaysians.

He said the Bah Manggis cluster, as it has been named, is linked to case number 12,866, who was hospitalised in Tawau, Sabah.

"The cluster has grown into its seventh generation to date and has 65 positive cases with 63 of them detected in Kuala Langat," said Jusni.

The other two cases were one each in Tawau and Rembau, Negri Sembilan respectively.

He added the district health department had been conducting the cluster's contact tracing and testing since Oct 18.

Mohd Jusni added 1,923 people have been identified and tested.

"Tests were also conducted on students from 10 schools and two kindergartens located near the Bah Manggis cluster," he added.

From the tests conducted, two students were found to be Covid-19 positive, he added.

According to Mohd Jusni, door-to-door visits would also be conducted to weed out those who have yet to be tested for Covid-19.
