Ismail Sabri: No enhanced MCO in Melaka

PETALING JAYA: An enhanced movement control order (MCO) will not be implemented in Melaka as rumoured, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“I have never announced that there will be an enhanced MCO in Melaka during any of my press conferences. If the source is not from me or the Health director-general, it is fake news," he said.

Ismail Sabri said that the public should only share credible information from the relevant ministries regarding Covid-19 cases.

“If we look into the current cases in Melaka, most of the areas are in yellow and green zones which are not as serious. I would like to remind the public to get their information from the right source and check before sharing," he said.

“Spreaders of fake news can be charged by the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commision (MCMC), ” added Ismail Sabri.
