PUTRAJAYA: Employers are reminded to get all their foreign security guards tested for Covid-19 before allowing them to come to work, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Defence Minister said this is particularly so for management of shopping malls as security guards are a direct contact point for many people entering malls and stores.
Ismail Sabri said the regulation has been in place since May and it is a standard operating procedure that must be adhered.
“Please make sure that foreign security guards are tested and their swab tests are negative before they come to work, ” he said on Monday (Oct 19).
In May, the government ordered that all foreign security guards working in Malaysia must undergo Covid-19 swab test following the discovery of a cluster among guards at a mall in Cheras.
