KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The government has allowed gymnasiums in areas under the conditional movement control order (MCO) to resume operations in compliance with strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the National Security Council (NSC), says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Defence Minister said this would be effective Monday (Oct 19) and the government also allowed sports activities at commercial football fields and futsal centres, but only for the purpose of training, subject to 10 participants at a time.
He said the decision was made at the special session of the NSC on Saturday (Oct 17) after considering applications and appeals from the Youth and Sports Ministry regarding sports activities in conditional MCO areas.
"Further announcements on SOPs will be informed by the Youth and Sport Ministry in the near future," he said at a virtual press conference via the Defence Ministry's Facebook page Saturday. - Bernama
