Covid-19: Testing at Tropicana resort worker hostel completed

PETALING JAYA: Covid-19 testing has been completed at the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort's worker hostel, with the results still pending.

"As of now, all 507 workers have been screened and we are waiting for their results to come back," said Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal outside the workers' hostel on Thursday (Oct 15).

"We have 207 positive cases within Petaling Jaya already. It's pretty alarming.

"For the people here, keep up the discipline and stay at home. If you really need to go out, do so and come back immediately," he said.

So far, 26 positive cases have been linked to the hostel.

On the current situation in the district, he said the places of concern were Damansara and Kota Damansara.

'It's quite high. More than half of the infections in Petaling Jaya come from Damansara and Kota Damansara," he said.

ACP Nik Ezanee said the number of cars on the road has dropped since the announcement of the conditional movement control order (MCO), adding that this showed compliance was strong in Petaling Jaya.

"Even during busy periods, there are fewer cars. This is a good indicator that shows the people here are doing their part in observing the standard operating procedures.

"I would say compliance is at 99% in Petaling Jaya," he said.
