Tok Mat: Umno still with Perikatan, not aware of any Umno MPs supporting Anwar for PM

SEREMBAN: Umno is still with Perikatan Nasional and none of its MPs have indicated their support for PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be prime minister, says Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

The Umno deputy president said Anwar's announcement that he had the support of the majority of the MPs to become prime minister may only be a ploy to influence the outcome of the Sabah state polls to be held this Saturday (Sept 26).

He said Perikatan has also not made any decision to support Anwar.

"As of now, Umno is still with and supports the Perikatan struggle.

"Any change in support must be decided by the party," he said when contacted.

Mohamad, however, said he was not aware if any Umno MP had thrown his or her support for Anwar.
