Vote for your favourite National Day commercial

AS a country that observes festivals of many different cultures, Malaysia is certainly full of cheer, colour and excitement.

And when celebrating each festivity, the emphasis is on the importance of family, respect for tradition and rapport with the wider community.

It is therefore no surprise that during these occasions, many would show their creativity in capturing the special moments and publish them to the world on their favourite social media platform.

Similarly, companies and brands have been doing the same thing, using TV commercials that explore the full potential in film art.

Many of these commercials, some 60 seconds or more, even go on to win international advertising awards with their depiction of how we celebrate a special occasion through comedy or drama, though all are equally heartwarming and are popular with viewers.

When it comes to our celebration of National Day, these commercials effuse us with a sense of pride to be Malaysian, by paying homage to the land we call home and the nation we know to be family.

From the rakyat’s perspective, this is one of the times of the year that we look forward to, as these commercials never fail to make us laugh or shed a tear, touch our hearts and linger on our minds.

So, to reach out to fellow Malaysians on a more emotive level and pay tribute to these entertaining festive commercials, Star Media Group has embarked on a search for the most engaging National Day video this year that connects with the hearts of the nation.
