MMEA detains tugboat, barge off Tanjung Manis for failing to furnish port clearance pass


SIBU: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has detained a tugboat towing a barge loaded with pebbles at Tanjung Manis, near here on Wednesday (Aug 19) for acting suspiciously.

Tanjung Manis Maritime Zone Director commander Mohd Ariz Md Kassim said on Thursday (Aug 20) that the boat was detained during an operation codenamed Op Permai operation in Belawai Waters around 2.30pm at a distance of about 3.1 nautical miles southwest of Tanjung Jerijih.
