SEPANG: The probe into the murder of a lecturer is continuing with police seeking to question a woman believed to be having an affair with the suspect.
“We believe that she can shed more light into our investigations, ” said Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Yusof.
He said police had already identified the woman and would be taking a statement from her.
It was reported that a 41-year-old man had allegedly strangled his wife to death and later made it appear that she was a victim of a robbery-cum-murder.
He was suspected to have killed his 40-year-old wife in a fit of rage last Wednesday when she asked for a divorce. The body was taken to a lake near Pinggiran Cyberjaya where she was found last Thursday.
Kosmo! reported the police believe the man was having an affair.
On the search of the lake at Taman Putra Perdana where the man was said to have thrown his wife’s phone, ACP Wan Kamarul said: “The conditions at the lake proved difficult for our divers who spent over two hours combing a 10m radius from the shore at a maximum depth of 4m.
“We could not retrieve the phone and decided to call off the search, ” he said.
