KUALA LUMPUR: A man was detained after he had climbed the Duta Court Complex's gates to enter the premises.
The man, who wore a pink T-shirt, was detained by a policeman on duty at the entrance of the court complex at about 6.15pm on Tuesday (July 28).
The man was then brought to a guard booth nearby before a police mobile patrol vehicle picked him up to send him to a nearby police station.
His motive has not been determined.
When contacted, Sentul OCPD Asst Comm S. Shanmugamoorthy confirmed that the man, in his 30s, had been detained.
"He has been brought to a nearby police station. We will investigate further," he said.
Hundreds of supporters had gathered in and around the court complex on Tuesday to hear the verdict against former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on seven charges related to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal involving is subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd.
The supporters gathered as early as 6.30am.
Najib was found guilty of all seven charges – one for abuse of power, and three each for criminal breach of trust and money laundering – and will serve at least 12 years in jail.
