"We also have cooperated with the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mosti) to look at the best practices that can be implemented while performing the korban activities.
"The result is, we have ordered eight slaughter cages to demonstrate how it could be done in the best manner.
"Perhaps it could be introduced in other places if it is found suitable," he told Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli (PAS-Dungun) during question time after he asked if there were any new innovative techniques that were being adopted so that korban activities adhered to the SOP set by the National Security Council (NSC).
He also said the special Muzakarah committee meeting of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs was held seven times throughout the MCO period to discuss various issues regarding the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Among the issues that were discussed included the procedures for Friday prayers at mosques and surau, virtual akad nikah, and the payment of zakat (tithe) as well as korban activities considering the views from the Health Ministry, NSC and other related agencies.
