Klang Valley water price hike issue to be discussed in Parliament today (July 21)

KUALA LUMPUR: The Rapid Transit System (RTS) project between Johor Bahru and Singapore, Buy Malaysian Products Campaign and the water situation in Selangor are among the issues to be raised in Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (July 21).

Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir (PH-Johor Baru) will be asking Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong the latest status of talks between Malaysia and Singapore on the RTS projects during Oral Question Time.

Meanwhile, During Minister's Question Time, Lukanisman Awang Suani (GPS-Sibuti) wants the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi to explain the goal of organising Malaysia Mega Sales Carnival (KJM) and Buy Malaysian Products Campaign (KBBM) 2020.

He is seeking clarification on both the campaigns used by the ministry in helping to restore domestic economic activity affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Datuk Hasanuddin Mohd Yunus (PH-Hulu Langat) will be raising his concerns to Environment and Water Minister Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man over possible water price hikes after the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant is handed over to Pengurusan Air Selangor.

He is seeking a guarantee from the minister that there would be no rise in tariffs.

The Dewan Rakyat sitting will also see the resumption of debates on the motion of thanks on the Royal Address which will be held until August 27.
