MELAKA: Melaka Hospital gets its first walk-in Covid-19 testing kiosk, thanks to Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).

The testing kiosk is aimed at lowering the risk faced by frontliners, says Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) vice-chancellor Profesor Datuk Wira Dr Raha Abdul Rahim.

She said the kiosk is equipped with Ultra-Low Particulate Air (ULPA) filters that can help to remove micro-particles.

"The kiosk also comes with wireless microphones and an air-conditioning unit," she said after the handing-over ceremony on Tuesday (June 30).

Dr Raha said the kiosk was developed with the shared expertise from Melaka Hospital, as well as UTeM's industrial partners.

"The project took three months to complete, and it's part of a research collaboration between the university and hospital in the tele-medicine segment," she added.

Meanwhile, Melaka Hospital's deputy medical director Dr Mohd Rosli Tompang said the hospital will optimise the kiosk when conducting Covid-19 tests.
