State coordinators voice support for Mukhriz amidst move to oust Kedah MB

ALOR SETAR: Even as the move to topple Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir is under way, about 50km away in Sungai Petani, the Mentri Besar has received support from state coordinators in the constituencies held by the opposition.

Sungai Limau coordinator Zahran Abdullah on Tuesday (May 12) said they were holding a press conference in view of the current political situation in the state during Ramadan.

"We are worried and disappointed with certain parties for trying to do this even as we are fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Here, we would like to offer our undying support for Mukhriz, who was elected democratically as the Mentri Besar with the support of the rakyat to lead the state until the next general election.

"He has a clear agenda and vision to develop the state for all Kedahans, and all of us are fully behind him," he said at Wisma Darul Aman on Tuesday (May 12).

Only 11 state coordinators out of the total 17 were present during the press conference.
