CGC warns public of fake offers

KUALA LUMPUR: Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) cautions that unsolicited third parties have claimed to represent CGC and offered financing products and services to small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs).

CGC said in a statement that it did not appoint any third party to act for it with regards to its products and services.

“These misrepresentations could be in the form of a call or a person impersonating or insinuating that they are an agent of CGC or purporting to be CGC representatives, or advertisements on an unofficial website or social media platforms that are made to look and feel similar to CGC offering its products and services, ” the statement read.

The public and SMEs who have doubts about the identity or information presented via a call, person or an advertisement are urged to alert the CGC client service centre (03-7880 0088/ email
