PETALING JAYA: Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang (pic) from Sarawak has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.

State Tourism, Art, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah confirmed this after a press conference on the Covid-19 situation, the Borneo Post reported.

“As far as we know now, one assistant minister and a member of Parliament are confirmed as Covid-19 positive,” he said.

Sarawak assistant Transport Minister Datuk Dr Jerip Susil had earlier confirmed that he tested positive for Covid-19, and that he had been admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital on Thursday night (April 2) for treatment.

Dr Jerip, who is Mambong assemblyman, had said that he contracted the virus when he came into contact with someone linked to the Good News Fellowship Conference Church cluster.

Other MPs who had been tested positive for the disease were Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii, who has been discharged, and Sarikei MP Andrew Wong, who is still undergoing treatment.
