MCO: Traffic diversions leading towards Chow Kit market from Friday (March 27)


KUALA LUMPUR: There will be several traffic diversions leading to the Chow Kit market following the extension of the movement control order (MCO).

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah said starting Friday (March 27), the public will only be able to access the market via Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and exit through Jalan Raja Alang.

"There will be several road closures to divert traffic flow, including Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Lorong Raja Bot, Lorong Haji Hussein, Lorong Haji Hussein 1 and road stretches from Jalan Raja Abdullah to Jalan Raja Alang and Jalan Raja Bot," he said.

ACP Mohd Fahmi also reminded shoppers that only a representative from a household is allowed to shop for supplies.

"Please also practise social distancing and maintain a distance of about 1m from the next person.

"Wash your hands often and we advise you to wear face masks," he said.

On Wednesday (March 25), Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the MCO, which was supposed to end on March 31, would be extended to April 14.
