IPOH: The Perak Coffeeshop Association will follow the ruling by the government to close shop for dine-in, says its chairman Ooi Beng Yeaw, but is unclear on whether customers could drop in to order takeaways.
Ooi said he had already forwarded the directive to committee members via phone conversations.
“I know people are not allowed to dine in, but it is not very clear if they could come to the shops to pack food or drinks.
“I think food deliveries are allowed, thus, we will wait for a clearer directive from our (association) higher-ups, ” he said.
Ooi said currently the association had over 200 active members in Perak, and he hoped whatever the ruling, they would obey and helped to curb the spread of the virus.
“I know some of them have stocks for their daily cooking, and they have to use certain ingredients in their stock soon before it expires.
“However, for the benefit of all, we have to sacrifice for two weeks, and pray and hope the situation gets better after that, ” he added.
