Assemblymen summoned to palace by Perak Sultan


IPOH: Several Perak political party leaders and former state executive council members have been summoned to meet with the Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

It is believed these meetings concern the appointment of the new Perak Mentri Besar.

State Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, state PAS commissioner Razman Zakaria and state Umno chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad were seen entering Istana Kinta between 2pm and 3pm on Thursday (March 12).

According to sources, seven of the 10 former state executive council members had also been summoned by the Perak Sultan.

They include Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, Datuk Asmuni Awi, Dr Abdul Aziz Bari, Tan Kar Hing, A. Sivanesan, Wong May Ing and Howard Lee.

They are expected to arrive at the palace at about 5pm.
