MACC arrests 12 cops in Penang over lorry protection racket


GEORGE TOWN: Twelve police personnel including a senior officer from the police headquarters here have been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for alleged involvement in a bribery scheme to protect overloaded lorries.

It was believed that the suspects from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (TIED) were arrested in Penang in a special operation conducted by MACC on Tuesday (March 10).
