Cops to question witnesses over cosmetics celebrity’s child abuse allegations

PETALING JAYA: Police will be calling several witnesses for questioning following allegations that a famous cosmetics entrepreneur has been abusing his adopted daughter.

Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said a police report was lodged against the suspect known as “Datuk Alif” on Feb 29.

“The 34-year-old Indonesian woman who lodged the report is the suspect's housekeeper.

“She claims in her report that the suspect has been abusing the two-year-old girl, ” he said in a statement Thursday (March 5).

He said police will be taking statements from several witnesses and have classified the case as child abuse under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

It was reported that a famous cosmetics entrepreneur was alleged to have hit his two-year-old adopted child in a bid to create content for his social media channel.

The incident reportedly occurred two months ago at the entrepreneur's residence here.

According to Berita Harian, the man slapped the two-year-old with his hand because he wanted to film the child crying as part of content for his social media channel.

The daily added that a police report was made regarding the incident, with the complainant saying that the entrepreneur asked her to put the child into a shoe closet, and join him in hitting her.

The complainant, however, said she refused as she was afraid the child would be hurt.

A police report pertaining to a child abuse case linking cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri and his adopted daughter has been circulating online.

Aliff's Instagram account was also flooded with comments from people asking for an explanation on the matter.
