Perak exco member in tears as he leaves position; continues as assemblyman

IPOH: Perak executive council member Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim got emotional and cried as he was packing up his things at the state secretariat building.

The Titi Serong assemblyman, from Amanah, said he was preparing himself for any eventualities, should Pakatan Harapan lose power over the state government.

"I came to pack up my things.

"I got sad when removing the picture of me receiving my appointment letter from the Perak Sultan," he said when met at his office.

Reporters, who were waiting nearby to meet with the state exco members, rushed to Hasnul Zulkarnain's room when he went live on Facebook to say his farewells to his staff and pack up his belongings.

"I felt that I've not done my best as an exco member and for the people.

"But I have to accept that this is politics, where lives can change within 24 hours," he said.

"I will continue my responsibility as a state assemblyman," he added.

Zulkarnain also said he felt that he had worked well with Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

"If there are any issues of the people, I will bring these up to him," he said.
