KOTA KINABALU: The test on a suspected Covid-19 case in Kudat reported earlier has come back negative.

Sabah Health and People's Wellbeing Minister Datuk Frankie Poon said the full report he obtained on Thursday morning (Feb 27) stated that the person under investigation (PUI) had not contracted the virus.

A viral message earlier this week said a 35-year-old woman who had recently returned from a South Korean trip was suspected of being infected with Covid-19.

The lab technologist for Kudat hospital was experiencing cough, flu, fever, sore throat and headaches and went for a checkup at the hospital on Monday (Feb 24), where she was then monitored as a PUI.

Sabah has no reported cases of Covid-19, as the state government had put up restrictions for new entries of Chinese nationals and travellers with recent travel history to China earlier this month.

Sabahans who returned from China then were also asked to undergo a 14-day home quarantine.
