KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was at Istana Negara and met with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for about an hour on Thursday (Feb 27).
The Prime Minister's Office confirmed that the interim Prime Minister had been summoned to meet Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at 11am.
He was seen going through the palace gates in his car at 10.55am and spent about an hour in the Palace before leaving around noon.
He waved at reporters waiting outside the main palace gates as he left.
It was also reported that Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat was called to the palace.
Dr Mahathir is scheduled to launch the stimulus package for the nation amid the Covid-19 outbreak on Thursday afternoon.
On Wednesday (Feb 26), in Dr Mahathir's first public address since the political turmoil began last Sunday, asked to be given the opportunity to form and lead a non-partisan government covering the entire political spectrum.
He resigned unexpectedly as prime minister and was appointed as interim prime minister.
