Six party leaders granted audience with King

KUALA LUMPUR: Five party presidents and one deputy president have been granted an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara following talk of a formation of a new government coalition.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang are said to be among those who are meeting the King on Sunday (Feb 23).

Also seen at the Istana Negara are Parti Warisan Sabah president and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, PBB president and Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

It is believed that the party leaders are there to brief the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the latest political development in the country.

Earlier, several vehicles were seen entering Istana Negara via Gate 3 following talk of a formation of a new government coalition.

In the morning, Bersatu held its supreme council meeting while Azmin met a dozen of PKR leaders and MPs aligned with him.

Umno also held its emergency supreme council meeting.
