BEAUFORT: Datuk Mohamad Alamin sees his candidacy for the Kimanis by-election as a chance to redeem himself and bring glory to Sabah Barisan Nasional.
The Barisan candidate, who was the Bongawan assemblyman from 2013 to 2018, lost the seat in the 14th General Election to Parti Warisan Sabah’s Dr Daud Yusof.
“I lost then but now I have a chance to rise again and prove myself and undertake the task given by Barisan.
“I will not only use my past experience as an elected representative but the various party posts previously held at the division level, as my party roles allowed me to be involved with people and the grassroots here, ” he said after he was announced as the Barisan candidate yesterday.
The 48-year-old local said Barisan was optimistic of winning as he felt that the people were suffering under the current Warisan administration and would want a change.
“Kimanis will not only be important to me as a candidate but also to the people.
“There are many pressing issues faced by the people, such as the high cost of living and promises not kept by the ruling government, ” he said.
