Fight between two foreign workers leads to fatal stabbing of Myanmar national

KUALA LUMPUR: A fight between two men ultimately led to the fatal stabbing of a worker from Myanmar.

The 35-year-old victim, who worked as a welder, was found dead after a fight between him and the suspect in Desa Tun Razak.

Preliminary investigations at the scene of the fight led to the discovery of the victim's body by the police K9 unit.

"The victim was found on the ground bloodied with injuries to the chest. The weapon that was believed to have been used in the stabbing was also recovered.

"Statements from witnesses and CCTV footage have been obtained. The suspect is also from Myanmar and works at the same place as the victim.

“Efforts to track the suspect down are ongoing," said Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zon in a statement Monday (Dec 16).

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
