MELAKA: Several members of the PKR central youth leadership council will be sacked for being absent from party meetings for over a year, says Youth chief Akmal Nasarullah Md Nasir.
“I admit that there are some in the youth leadership who have never attended meetings for over a year.
“I feel that these four or five people are no longer interested to be part of the leadership, ” he said in his winding-up speech at the PKR National Congress yesterday.
Akmal said he would table a motion to sack those concerned.
He said the Youth wing decided to publicly reveal the attendance record at the youth central leadership meetings in its annual report for “members to judge for themselves”.
The report identified Akmal’s deputy, Hilman Idham, as among those with a poor attendance record, having only turned up for one out of eight meetings.
Akmal, who is the Johor Baru MP, also hit out at certain elected representatives in PKR whom he said were “good at pretending”.
“There are some who seemed to be human rights activists but when that person becomes an elected representative, he is only busy following his ‘political master’ without principles and direction.
“There are elected representatives who want to show they are generous, taking care of the vulnerable. But they only serve to enrich themselves, ” he added.
Akmal said there was a minister who liked to show off, teach and instruct others.
“But turns out, that person uses a fake certificate, ” he claimed.
