Another victim of New Zealand crash dies

KOTA KINABALU: Another victim of a car crash in New Zealand has died, bringing the number of deaths to four.

This was revealed by the family's relative Afifah Shaiffudin, 33, when met at their family home in Ulu Putatan near here, Sunday (Dec 8).

She said they received the news at around 2pm.

The deceased is a 15-year-old girl, the eldest daughter of the late couple.

It was reported that Malaysian doctor Dr Rumihati Abd Hamid, her husband Adanan@Adnan Jeman, 49, and their three children, aged 12,13 and 15, were involved in an accident following a collision with a lorry on Friday (Dec 6).

Dr Rumihati, Adanan, and their 13-year-old daughter were immediately killed in the 3.15am mishap.

Meanwhile, efforts are being made to have the victims buried in Christchurch.

The couple's youngest daughter is reported to be stable and is receiving treatment at the Wellington Hospital.

Seven family members from Sabah arrived in New Zealand on Sunday morning to handle the funeral and other matters.
