All PKR leaders urged to attend bureau meeting after Azmin's BN MP meet-up

KUALA LUMPUR: Fahmi Fadzil is urging all of PKR's leadership to attend its political bureau meeting on Wednesday (Nov 20) night following a gathering involving several Barisan Nasional and PKR MPs at Datuk Seri Azmin Ali's official residence in Putrajaya.

According to PKR communications director, the meeting which involved some 22 Barisan and five PKR MPs at Azmin's official residence at Presint 10, Putrajaya on Monday (Nov 18) would be discussed in the weekly political bureau meeting.

"I read reports (about the meeting) and at this moment, the party hasn't received any official information.

"I believe when the political bureau meets tomorrow (Wednesday), we will discuss this.

"I hope all of the leadership will be attending so we can get a full picture of what actually transpired," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby on Tuesday (Nov 19).

However, it is not known whether Azmin would be attending, as the PKR deputy president and several party leaders aligned to him have been notably absent in the political bureau meeting for several months, given strained ties with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's faction in the party.

The Lembah Pantai MP said following the Tanjung Piai by-election, Malaysians wanted to see the Pakatan Harapan government improve its performance and solve issues aside and fulfil its promises.

"If there was really a meeting last night (Monday), what are they trying to achieve?" he asked.

Among those who met at Azmin's official residence were former Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Kamaruddin Jaffar, and Cameron Highlands MP Ramli Mohd Noor.

Hishammuddin has denied masterminding the meeting at Azmin's official residence, saying he was ready to be investigated by Umno's disciplinary board.
