What a load of croc: Viral croc sighting did not happen in KK

KOTA KINABALU: A video showing a huge crocodile swimming in a drain that surfaced in various social media groups in Sabah is not from Kota Kinabalu, inspections have revealed.

It was earlier suspected that the video was taken at a monsoon drain near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital here.

However, after inspections by wildlife rangers, they found that the clip was not taken at the mentioned area.

A Wildlife Department source said rangers and staff at other districts are also checking on the information.

From what is observed from the video, the reptile could be as big as 12 feet long.

It is not uncommon to see crocodiles in drains in the state capital.

Luckily, there are no reports of crocodile attacks within the city as yet.
