KULAI: A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping and robbing a masseuse inside his car and near a factory in Jalan Tamban 1/1, Saleng here.
Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said that the victim, a 34-year-old Indonesian woman who was working as a part-time masseuse, met the suspect through the messaging app WeChat.
The suspect and victim met each other last Friday (Nov 8) and went out to dinner.
"The next day, the suspect contacted the victim asking for a massage service at her house. The suspect then claimed that he had left his money in his car and asked the victim to accompany him.
"The suspect then asked the victim go for a drive with him and she agreed. When they arrived at the location, the suspect threatened the victim with a parang and demanded her belongings before removing her clothes," he said in a statement here Tuesday (Nov 12).
Supt Tok added that the victim tried to fight him off and was punched in her face.
The suspect then sped off and left the victim at the side of the road.
A passer-by then helped her lodge a police report.
"Based on the intelligence gathered, the police tracked down the suspect and arrested him at about 8am on Monday at Taman Putri.
"The suspect confessed to the crime and is currently under remand until Nov 16," he said, adding that the case was investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery and Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
Police had also confiscated the parang used and the stolen items.
