GEORGE TOWN: While the research paints a grim future for the state’s hawker food scene, a few young people have actually stepped up to preserve the ko cha bi (traditional taste) of Penang.
Among them is 35-year-old Hokkien mee seller Lau Yong Lin, who said that preserving the old taste of Penang was akin to keeping the “George Town identity” alive.
