SEREMBAN: Nilai will be the second stop in Negri Sembilan for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
He said his administration was notified of this during a briefing by officials from the Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) on Wednesday (Sept 18).
"We can now confirm that there will be an ECRL stop in Nilai. The first will be in Kuala Klawang in Jelebu, near our border with Pahang," he told reporters after chairing the state exco meeting at Wisma Negeri.
The next ECRL stop after Nilai would be Putrajaya, he added.
During the state assembly sitting on Aug 27, Aminuddin said Nilai was still being considered as one of the stops on the route.
He also said then the proposal was raised during a meeting between the state government and MRL on Aug 8.
He said the ECRL station, which would provide both passenger and freight services, would be located near Nilai 3.
