Maiden docking of shipping vessel drives Sabah's hopes of being Rotterdam of the East

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s hope of becoming the Rotterdam of the East is taking shape with the maiden docking of container vessel 17224 DWT MV Danum 172 at the purpose-built Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) Container Terminal in Lahad Datu.

Sabah Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Madius Tangau said the facility, which had been in place since October last year, had a slow start and was only kicking off operations now.
