Abdul Hamid: I'm not IGP of Pakatan, but of the country

TAPAH: Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador insists that he is not Pakatan Harapan's Inspector-General of Police.

He said he was merely a police officer of the country, and did not serve any particular political party.

"I sit in the middle (between the government and opposition) and will make comments on both parties if needed.

"I will speak the truth. I am not the IGP of Pakatan Harapan, I am the IGP for the country," he said after launching the Operasi Bersepadu Khazanah at PGA Bidor here today (Sept 3).

"I've never made any statements siding anyone. What I did say was that when there is a change of government, there will be issues.

"The opposition will try to weaken the government. That's their role," he added.

Abdul Hamid also urged the public to stop being petty by making issues out of everything.

"Take a look on social media. It seems like Malaysia is about to collapse with the irresponsible comments on race and religious issue.

"A special police team will monitor this. Those who make remarks on sensitive issue will be prosecuted," he said.

"I can guarantee those involved will be charged. Take my word for it," he added.
