Melaka govt defends hiring of former sex worker, addict in anti-drug drive

MELAKA: The Melaka government is not in the “erotica” business, says State Health and Anti-Drug Committee chairman Low Chee Leong following the decision to engage a non-government organisation (NGO) led by a former sex worker and a drug addict to combat drug addiction.

He said the services of the HIV-positive couple was to create awareness of the issues at stake in view of the escalating cases of drug addiction in the state.
