Indonesian woman gets three months’ jail for offering RM50 sex services to cop


KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): An Indonesian woman has been sentenced to three months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here for offering sexual services to a policeman, last week.

Magistrate Noorasyikin Sahat handed down the sentence on Asmawaty Juanda, 25, after the woman pleaded guilty to the charge on Thursday (Aug 22).

Asmawaty was accused of soliciting RM50 from a policeman for the purpose of prostitution at the roadside of Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, here at 4.15pm on Aug 12.

Deputy public prosecutor Wafa Zainal Abidin appeared for the prosecution while the accused was unrepresented.

She was charged under Section 372 (B) of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to one year or a fine or both, upon conviction. – Bernama
