KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has paid a tribute to Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah on Her Majesty's birthday on Monday (Aug 5).
Sultan Abdullah took the opportunity to wish Tunku Azizah while launching the Pameran Raja Kita exhibition at the Royal Museum here on Monday, in conjunction with His Majesty's installation ceremony.
"I want to inform that today, the 5th of August, is the Raja Permaisuri Agong's birthday.
"Let us all pray for my wife to have a long life, to be better at cooking, to be able to share more of her energy, be healthy and blessed by Allah, " said His Majesty lightheartedly in his speech at the event.
Sultan Abdullah also thanked Tunku Azizah for Her Majesty's assistance in ensuring that the installation ceremony, which ends today, went smoothly.
"I want to thank my wife, my beloved wife, for giving a lot of focus in ensuring every preparation is done with utter perfection and full of details.
"I want to thank the Istana Negara staff for being very patient, and I believe that we can gain a lot from Her Majesty's guidance, " said Sultan Abdullah.
His Majesty then officiated the Pameran Raja Kita exhibition, which is being held today to Nov 5 at the Balairong Seri at the Royal Museum.
The highlights of the exhibition include the display of Royal Regalia and the private collections of Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi said the three-month long exhibition was laden with information regarding the history, roles and position of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
"Among the segments on display include His Majesty's scope of powers, relationship with the rakyat, as well as some sides of His Majesty and Her Majesty's personal life such as hobbies, recreational activities and community activities, which have become very close to their hearts.
"More than 150 artefacts and collections from the Istana Negara, Office of the Keeper of the Rulers Seal, Istana Pahang, Pahang State Museum Corporation, the National Archives and the National Library, as well as the Museums Department will be on display, " said Mohamaddin.
