Five released from remand in sex video probe


PETALING JAYA: The five people who were arrested along with Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz in connection with the sex video scandal have been released.Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed said that the five individuals were released after their remand orders ran out.

“They were released yesterday,” he confirmed when contacted yesterday.

He said, however, that Perak PKR chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak was still under police custody.

On Thursday, the High Court maintained the six-day remand order for Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz that will end today, while reducing the remand order for the five to four days.

Police have so far remanded nine people in connection with this case, including Farhash, who is also the political secretary of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
