KUALA LUMPUR: There is no political interference in the investigation into the viral sex video implicating Economics Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, says Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador (pic).
The Inspector-General of Police said Bukit Aman was conducting the investigation with the utmost transparency and professionalism.
"We did not receive any political pressure or directive from any parties.
"We are investigating the matter without fear or favour," he told reporters after paying a courtesy call on Armed Forces chief Jeneral Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin at Wisma Pertahanan on Thursday (July 18).
"I've made it very clear there is no interference from anyone, nor is there specific pressure on me, nothing at all.
"We are very free to conduct our own investigation according to a standard operating procedure," he said.
The IGP also said he would issue a statement if the authenticity of the video had been verified.
On allegations that Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal was not given food for almost 24 hours during his arrest, Abdul Hamid said it was not true.
