KUALA LUMPUR: The report on the “missing” RM19.4bil Goods and Services Tax (GST) credit refunds will be tabled a day earlier in Parliament to avoid further misconception on the issue, said Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad.
She said the committee had unanimously agreed to table it in the Dewan Rakyat today instead of tomorrow.
“The decision to release the tabling of the report, which was initially scheduled for July 16, is to prevent any misconception over the report on the RM19.4bil Goods and Services Tax (GST) credit refunds,” Noraini said in a statement.
She also noted that the public could download a copy from the PAC website at www.parlimen.gov.my/pac on the same day after the report is tabled in the Dewan Rakyat.
Last week, Noraini had expressed disappointment over what she said was an inaccurate online report about the committee’s findings on the GST.
