IPOH: The state executive councillor implicated in a rape case says he is totally shocked and baffled by the allegations made by his former maid.
State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Paul Yong Choo Kiong, in a media statement released by his aide, said he unequivocally and categorically denied the “unfounded allegations”.
“I reiterate my stand that I have never raped or sexually assaulted her.
“While maintaining my total innocence, I have given my full cooperation to the police, and brought witnesses to assist police in their investigation, to prove that the allegation made against me is false,” he added.
Yong, the Tronoh assemblyman, said he respected due process of the law.
“I will allow the police to carry out their professional and independent investigation, as I believe the truth will prevail,” he added.
