PUTRAJAYA: Former Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) has been summoned to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to record a statement Monday (June 24).

The Umno president arrived at the MACC headquarters here at 9.30am in a black MPV, an hour ahead of schedule.

It is unknown what the Bagan Datuk MP is being questioned about.

On Sunday (June 23), former Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein was questioned for close to seven hours over the land swap deal controversy involving the Defence Ministry (Mindef).

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who is also a former defence minister, was also implicated in some of the 16 dubious land swap deals.

On Sunday, a Malay daily reported that a former senior minister will be charged in court this week by the MACC over bribery.
