Deputy IGP: No truth to rumours of syndicates kidnapping children for organs

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Mazlan Mansor. – Bernama

PETALING JAYA: Rumours that there are syndicates kidnapping children to harvest their organs are not true, says Datuk Mazlan Mansor.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police said that the rumours are still floating around despite police issuing several statements denying it.

"The public needs to understand that harvesting organs can only be done by legitimate medical experts and not by just anyone.

"The removal of organs also follows a strict procedure," he said in a statement on Monday (June 17).

He urged the public to not spread or share false information about these syndicates which could cause unrest.

"Action can be taken against those found spreading such false information," he added.
