MELAKA: Five policemen tested positive for drugs following a raid on an entertainment centre in Taman Melaka Raya here.

It is learnt four were attached to the Melaka police contingent and one was from the Kuala Pilah district police station in Negri Sembilan.

They served in various departments – including the Narcotics Department, Criminal Investigation Department and patrol car unit – and tested positive for ketamine.

One of the suspects revealed to investigation officers that they got their supply from a Bangladeshi man who works at the entertainment centre.

Melaka Tengah deputy OCPD Supt Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the suspects had been remanded to assist investigations.

Among those screened during the 10.30pm raid by the Melaka Tengah Narcotics Department on Thursday was a 14-year-old assistant car repossesor, who tested negative for drugs.

The centre is among the popular nightclubs here and was on the radar following reports about drug-related activities.
