SEREMBAN (Bernama): The Negri Sembilan government has donated RM6,000 to the next-of-kin of the couple and child killed by a lightning strike on Tuesday (June 4).

State Human Resources, Plantation and Non-Islamic Affairs Committee chairman J. Arul Kumar said the money was to assist family members meet funeral expenses of the three victims.

"This is a very sad incident where three of four family members died.

"The state government will provide financial assistance to help with the funeral arrangements," he said in a statement here on Thursday (June 6).

It was reported that a couple and their child were found dead at a goat shed in Felda Palong Enam near here, believed to have been struck by lightning.

In the 4pm incident, victims S. Elangovan, 38; P. Kaliammah, 36, and their son, E. Vinesh, aged three, died on the spot.

Another nine-year-old child of the couple was injured on the leg in the incident. – Bernama
