Yemeni student injured in six-vehicle pile-up

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): A college student from Yemen was seriously injured in a crash involving six vehicles at a traffic light junction in Jalan Genting Klang here on Saturday (May 18).

The 26-year-old student was driving a car from Ampang to Danau Kota, when his vehicle- collided with an SUV, driven by a mechanic coming from the opposite direction at 3.20am.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Zulkefly Yahya said both vehicles did not stop at the traffic light.

“The car driven by the mechanic swerved into the opposite lane and rammed into four motorcyclists who stopped at the traffic light.

“He escaped unhurt, while the student sustained serious injuries on the head. Two motorcyclists suffered injuries on the hand and waist and were sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment,” he said when contacted by Bernama. - Bernama
