PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian who was injured at the Taroko Gorge National Park in Taiwan on April 18 has succumbed to his injuries.
It was previously reported that Choo Yip Chean, 40, was hiking the Lushui Trail at the national park in Hualien when the county was hit by a magnitude 6.1 earthquake.
He died late Saturday night, said Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah in a statement.
“The ministry, through the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre in Taipei, is assisting the family,” Saifuddin said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.” — Bernama
